Next time you are headed North on 131 look East at 144th Avenue and you will see Moline Christian School. The enrollment of Moline Christian is ever increasing, needing extra classrooms and pull-out rooms, conference/study rooms that offer flexible study. This design build addition was designed for future expansion.

The Classroom Addition at Moline Christian School created additional spacious classrooms, individual three conference rooms, rest rooms, and a large bright commons study area.  The exterior brick was matched carefully. Our team worked with the brick supplier to secure the brick color and finish which is made in a kiln only twice per year. The closest brick was matched, and the order was timed just right. 

Construction logistics were carefully planned and sequenced around the school schedule to ensure separation of traffic and safety.

The Van Andel Food Service Center at the Pine Rest Christian Mental Hospital has been the central in-patient mental health treatment facility since 1987. As such it has undergone a series of expansions adding treatment units, housing and programs. Throughout continued expansion of services and facilities the original Kitchen and Dining has produced increasingly more meals yet remained mostly unchanged. The Van Andel Dining project fulfilled the need for a 300-meal kitchen to become a 1,000-meal kitchen by modernizing and optimizing its footprint.

Sterner Clinic outgrew their facility after seventy years of service in Ionia, Michigan. This required moving to a new facility. The new veterinary clinic features a Reception/Retail area, Six Exam Rooms, Pharmacy, Tech/Lab, X-Ray Room, Surgery Room, Offices, Inventory and Storage Areas, Pack and Prep Area, and Dog Ward.

The clinic’s mission is to treat every client and patient as we would treat our families, with respect, honesty, and compassion. The design of the new clinic supports their mission with a grief room for families who part with a pet along with a separate exit. The dog and cat wards offer more room than ever before along with pharmacy, surgery rooms and a communications system.

The clinic sees roughly 50-75 pets per day. There are 25 staff members at the Ionia facility. Sterner partners with Countyline Veterinary Service in Westphalia, which serves large animals. There are seven large animal doctors under the Sterner name and 12 veterinarians in total.

Clients can now appreciate more flexibility with scheduling and less wait times at the new location. The clinic’s goal is to add more local services.

Our in-house architectural and engineering team has designed the Sterner Veterinary Clinic's new Ionia facility and construction is underway! The new Vet Clinic will have a reception and retail area, six exam rooms, pharmacy, tech/Lab, X-ray services, surgery, offices, inventory storage, pack & prep Area, and dog ward. Our architectural and engineering team is collaborating with interior designer Amanda Vanden Berg Huizenga of Amanda Christine Design on an upcoming design build church project.  The contemporary design and interior finishes shown in the preliminary Fellowship Hall sketches are inspired by the casual and welcoming feel of their worship services and the culture of the congregation.

We’re getting close to an exciting wrap up of the Dutton Christian School project!

The 50th Street freezer facility site is located in proximity to other Gordon Food Service distribution centers. The new facility brings about needed additional space for the company’s line of frozen food products. The proposed freezer building is built on a section of land that is part of a roadway, requiring a partial street vacation and shortening of the 50th St., west of Clay Avenue.

• Maintenance room and mezzanines
• Facility offices
• Employee Member Center
• Refrigerated dock
• 14 loading docks

In order to accommodate the refrigeration penthouse units, the project obtained a zoning variance for the 62 ft. building height. The freezer conforms to the city’s sustainability principles. Gordon Food Service project will allow for the redevelopment of several under utilized industrial properties and will infuse vital investment into the surrounding community.
