Story

The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy Teaching and Administration Building, is a project Treanor Architects is completing in association with The Clark Enersen Partners. The size of the new building is approximately 112,000 sq ft, and desired occupancy by 2010 fall semester. This fast paced CM-at-Risk project has an energy goal of ASHRAE +30%, an aggressive yet appropriate standard set by the University of Kansas.

The new building is designed to have two 175-seat classrooms and several smaller classrooms with state-of-the-art distance learning technology, integrated teaching laboratory, a working model pharmacy, as well as teaching patient consultation rooms with audio-video observation and instructional capabilities. Located on West Campus, the Pharmacy Teaching and Administration Building has been placed to easily accommodate phased future research laboratory and support functions totaling more than 300,000 sq ft. The ultimate goal is to connect the new School of Pharmacy to the Dolph Simons Laboratory Building which houses the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department.
