Williamston High School

Williamston, Michigan

High School The existing High School received a 76,000 SF addition comprised of 10 classrooms and a new performance gymnasium. The classroom addition expanded the educational capacity of the high school by creating a “Math and Science Academy” with common space adjacent to the classrooms that serve as small and large group study or collaboration areas. The gymnasium addition created a new 3-station gym, elevated walking track, physical fitness center, and locker rooms that are all designed for both school and community use. Explorer Elementary School Renovations at this 3-5 elementary school consisted of a new administrative office in a location that would better supervise the building’s main entrance, upgrades to classrooms and technology. Also included in the renovations to this building were the replacement of lighting in portions of the building, the creation of a group demonstration lab area and re-roofing. Downtown Athletic Center (DTAC) Removed from the rest of the District’s property, but located at the heart of Williamston, is the Williamston football field and track. This facility was completely renovated by replacing the existing 6-lane track with an 8-lane track, featuring 10-lanes on the straight-aways. The natural turf football field was re-built, with the addition of irrigation and improved drainage. New grandstands were added for the home team and the existing stands were expanded and improved for visitors. A new toilet/team room/concession facility was constructed beneath the home grandstand and a new ticket booth was constructed.
