Project: The Study at Yale

The Colony Inn, a motor inn that had seen its better day at 1157 Chapel Street, New Haven, has been beautifully transformed. After two years of construction, managed by Enterprise Builders, it is now an upscale hotel with large windows called The Study at Yale.  Originally built in 1961, the original inn consisted of 86 ordinary guest rooms, a restaurant and bar. Those amenities have been revamped into 124 guest rooms and a more upscale eatery and lounge, resulting from the extensive renovation of the five stories and the addition of two additional stories for a total of seven, plus a penthouse area.  The main floor consists of three walnut paneled meeting rooms and a 100-seat restaurant and bar, which also offers banquette seating. Each guest room provides a work station that runs the length of the large window that each sits in front of. There are also nine suites, most of which have a separate study with stocked bookcases. One suite has an artist's studio. The Study at Yale will provide wonderful overnight lodging to visitors of the Yale campus.
