Many of the materials chosen for the Chase Collegiate Upper School Renovation and Addition project contain recycled content and/or are recyclable. The carpeting, acoustical tile, and linoleum floor all compliment the school's commitment to using recycled or recyclable materials. Occupancy sensors and photo sensors are utilized in all the classrooms, increasing efficiency and reducing energy costs. In addition, energy recovery heating units were utilized, as well as high-efficiency boilers. Chase Collegiate was very committed to sustainable design throughout the project and was able to provide for their students a building that will teach their students about the importance of building green. The most obvious example of this can be seen on the roof, where a solar array encompasses the entirety of the barrel roof.
