Stephenson Engineering used REVIT to locate this four-storey seniors’ residence on the site to minimize the rock excavation and save project costs. The building was constructed on hard Canadian Shield granite. To help maximize the client’s Return on Investment, we were able to utilize BIM technology to optimally place the building on the site, and minimize rock excavation. Furthermore the innovative use of BIM helped facilitate the prefabrication of the light gage roof system on the ground, to be hoisted to the roof after assembly. Utilizing this prefabrication expedited construction in a safer work environment.
