Challenge: To provide opportunities for people of all ages to seek, learn and grow in an environment that will inspire hope, respect, and motivate individuals to make positive social change. The creation of digital art and photography within the center is the cornerstone learning activities to promote conversation, inspiration, and mentoring. - The Center provides a world-class environment housed in a beautifully reclaimed space in downtown Grand Rapids. - The gallery is planed as the gateway into the center, promoting student creativity and supporting the role of art as a tool to mentoring. The walls become a canvas for student articulation. - The bamboo used throughout the space (in flooring, casework, panels and framing) is a rapidly renewable material, growing to full maturity within about 7 years. This is about 30 years faster than typical hardwoods, which have a greatly reduced impact on the environment.
