Challenge: Define a paradigm for corporate learning environments - conversion of part of a windowless, 1-million square foot facility and warehouse into the international "nerve-center" for all learning and training throughout the corporation - a wide variety of rich learning environments were created, all based on classic community and urban planning principles - 65,000 square feet - nine classrooms, ten breakout areas, a Discovery Learning Space for information, individual, self-directed, and self-paced learning functions, as well as a media center - an installation lab for Steelcase product installer training; a Distance Learning Studio which s the focus of all learning technology, and a cafe which provides food service and information space, including plug and play stations - AIA Grand Valley Honor Award - Building Design
