Orion Construction completed the renovation and tenant build-out for the Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc. (DGRI) corporate offices in the summer of 2013. The unique workplace features perimeter offices facing common space and group-work space conducive to the creative work environment at DGRI. The project team carefully coordinated the floor plan and minor build-outs to encourage open communication as well as providing meeting rooms offering privacy and “break-out” group sessions.

The challenge of the project was to bring functionality, creativity and the vision of DGRI together. The intention was to create a versatile, floor space that represents the “ground floor” nature of DGRI. DGRI offers the space to local non-profits and other community organizations for board meetings. With sliding partitions, free wi-fi internet service and a modern appearance, DGRI’s office has become a symbol of the eclectic nature of the organization.
