After nearly 11 months of construction, 8,300 cubic yards of concrete, 17 elevated deck pours, 530 tons of resteel and 31 miles of post-tension cables, Kent Companies completed construction of the parking deck at St. Mary’s Hospital in downtown Grand Rapids.  Through close collaboration with the owner and construction manager, Kent Companies was able to deliver a first-rate parking structure that includes 7 levels of parking and two cast-in-place elevator and stair cores that rise nearly 90 feet in the air.    

The owner, in particular, was very pleased with the quality of work Kent produced. This is noteworthy given the fact that the entire inside of the parking ramp and a large part of the exterior is exposed concrete.  Also noteworthy on this project is Kent’s safety record.  Throughout the entire construction process, Kent never received one safety citation or write-up for safety violations.
