Kent Companies was contracted by Rockford Construction to install 180,000 square feet of interior floor for the new Meijer store in Stevensville, Michigan.  Utilizing the latest technology available to aid in concrete placement and finishing, Kent’s crews installed the entire floor in five separate pours over the course of less than two weeks.  In addition to the fast track schedule, Kent’s crews achieved extremely high flatness and levelness.  Testing performed following placement of the floors showed ff/fl readings in excess of 130/100 in many areas.  

Following floor placement, Kent's crews were brought in to polish to a “salt and pepper” finish more than 140,000 square feet of the newly-installed floors.  Of note is the fact that this is the first new Meijer store to fully utilize a polished concrete floor.  Working nearly round the clock for over a month, Kent’s crews polished the floor to a high sheen, providing the new store with a durable and attractive floor with high light reflectivity.
