Ada, Michigan
Architectural
This project was a new Animal Hospital venture for two Ada Veterinary Doctors. The building was strategically located along a natural setting adjacent to the Grand River and offered walking trails for pets and their owners. The site proximity to the Grand River did classify the property within the 100 year flood plain and as such required additional development by the design team to meet federal and state regulations. The building design was simple in approach and reflective of the local residential context. Interior spaces were organized around a central reception lobby that provided control points at exam rooms and pet owner exits to separate potential animal conflicts. Supporting spaces included X-Ray, Isolation, Surgery, Treatment, Kennel, and Retail. Materials and finishes were developed around a stress and maintenance free animal environment.
