Twinbrook Quarter is a 12-story mixed-use tower that combines office, retail, and residential spaces, all situated atop a parking podium. The building features 452 apartment units, 30,000 square feet of retail space, and a 94,000-square-foot grocery store. Each area of the building is designed with a unique combination of brick, mortar, and cast stone colors. Specifically, Building 1 incorporates five different blends of bricks, resulting in ten distinct color variations. This design approach is quite rare and requires meticulous planning and coordination to ensure all masonry elements are installed correctly. At the peak of the masonry operation, Manganaro Midatlantic had a crew of 87 workers on-site for approximately four months, installing bricks on nearly every elevation simultaneously. Remarkably, the project was completed ahead of schedule. Given the size and weight of the cast stone, specialized equipment was utilized to hoist and install copings and piers. The unique dimensions and overall heft of the cast stone necessitated a specialized anchoring system for proper installation. The project's masonry quantities included 223,847 concrete masonry units (CMU), 1,189,043 bricks, and 7,552 cast stones.
