  The Excellence in Construction Awards (EIC) recognizes and celebrates outstanding projects built by Washington-area ABC members annually. The awards competition serves to raise the level of construction standards throughout the industry by recognizing the workmanship of those who contribute and by showcasing the results of their dedication. Teamwork and cooperation between general contractors, specialty contractors, and material suppliers are prerequisites for building excellence into any construction project.

  ABC of Metro Washington and Virginia are proud to host the Excellence in Construction Awards to honor the exceptional work created in the metropolitan Washington area each year.

  
  

  Eligible projects must have been completed between January 1, 2025 and June 1, 2026.

  Deadline for entry: Friday, April 10, 2026

  (Fee of $495 is required with each entry in each category.)

  On-site Judging day: Thursday, June 11, 2026

  EIC Awards presentation: Thursday, September 24, 2026 at The Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner

  Before submitting this entry form, please make sure you have gathered the items below, as they will be required during the submission process. An entry fee of $495 per entry is required. You are required to pay by credit card after the form is completed.

  
  

  • A list of all subcontractors and service contractors who worked on the project must be included. This list must be submitted along with your entry form (in Excel format) no later than April 10, 2026. ABC subcontractors will be recognized on all winning projects.
  

  • Include full contact information along with a brief description of the type of work performed (e.g., landscaping, drywall, scaffolding, concrete, masonry, etc.).

  • Security information - Please inform us if this project requires security information for the judging process on June 11.

  • A brief description of the project. Be as detailed as possible as it will assist in the judging or promotion of your entry. Please limit your description to no more than 500 words and do not include paragraph breaks.

  • Digital photo file(s) must be uploaded for each entry. Acceptable formats are JPEG, PNG or Tiff in high resolution.

  • A digital file with your company logo in JPEG, PNG or Tiff format is required and can be uploaded near the end of this form.

  • Letter of reference - If submitting a project in the Excavation/Site Preparation category, you will need to submit a letter of reference since there will be no on-site judging.

  • The entire entry form must be completed.

  • Cancellation with a refund must be made by May 10, 2026.
