West Falls Church Economic Development Project - Block C Residential Condominiums
Falls Church, VA
The West Falls Church project stands as a testament to exceptional craftsmanship, skill, and creativity, elevating the aesthetics of the lobby space. The design called for custom wood elements—over 30 individually fabricated branches that mimic tree limbs—installed around a 16-foot circular column and two additional wall-mounted “trees.” Each branch’s walnut veneer finish required meticulous matching, as our team ensured uniform staining to achieve seamless cohesion. The complexity of the installation demanded innovative solutions, especially as the architect prioritized minimal visibility of fasteners and screws. Our team engineered a unique anchoring system that allowed each branch to be mounted without visible screws, exceeding the architect's expectations for an uninterrupted natural appearance. The wall-mounted branches extend from heights over 8 feet, creating an organic illusion as they seem to “grow” directly from the surface. The project also included a wall covering in the yoga room resembling tree trunks—a challenging material due to its fragility. Through precise handling, our team achieved an installation that surpassed expectations in both durability and visual impact. The final result is a beautifully executed, immersive space that seamlessly blends technical excellence with the artistry of natural elements.
