Story

The INOVA Pharmacy is a state of the art 80,000 square foot pharmaceutical distribution center for all hospitals within the INOVA network. The new pharmacy consists of 5 different pharmaceutical areas. Area 1 is the home infusion area where pharmaceuticals are compounded and made within sterile rooms. Area 2 is the administrative area where the leadership offices, conference rooms and training center are located. Area 3 is the call center area where pharmaceuticals support staff sit. Area 4 is the specialized distribution area, which includes a state-of-the-art conveyor belt system where robots automatically fill and process pharmaceuticals into proper containers for shipment to the INOVA hospital systems. The final area is the centralized distribution area, where packaging supplies are stored with pharmaceuticals that are scheduled to be shipped out.
