TRINITY Group Construction was selected to build the new headquarters for Peterson Companies, one of the nation’s premier real estate developers. Located at Fairfax Corner in Fairfax, Virginia, the project encompassed approximately 35,102 square feet across the third floor and part of the second floor. Designed by VA Spaces, the new office is a high-performance, modern workplace that reflects Peterson Companies’ commitment to innovation and operational excellence. TRINITY’s scope began with the complete demolition of the existing interiors down to shell condition. From there, the team executed a comprehensive interior fit-out, tailored to the client's evolving operational needs. The finished space features a mix of private offices, a welcoming reception area, multiple conference and work rooms, a large kitchen/lounge space, restrooms with showers, and an internal staircase that seamlessly connects the two floors. At the heart of the design is a monument staircase, serving as both a functional connector and an architectural showpiece. Built with custom metalwork and detailed millwork, this staircase required careful engineering and sequencing to integrate with surrounding finishes. A sleek Viewrail system was specified to enhance the modern aesthetic while maintaining clean lines and open sightlines. Ceiling design was instrumental in establishing the space’s refined character. Barcode and baffle ceiling systems were utilized to introduce texture, improve acoustics, and conceal infrastructure. Their installation required meticulous coordination with lighting, HVAC, and fire protection systems to ensure visual alignment and consistent execution. Throughout the headquarters, extensive tile work added both elegance and durability. High-end tiles were laid in precise patterns, particularly in restrooms, pantries, and lobby areas. The work involved tight layout control, precision cutting, and seamless transitions between horizontal and vertical surfaces. Custom millwork is another prominent design element, featured in reception areas, conferencing spaces, and private offices. These pieces were closely coordinated with adjacent finishes and MEP systems, requiring detailed planning, phased installation, and tight tolerances to deliver the high-end look the client envisioned. The project also included full coordination and installation of upgraded mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Designed to remain mostly concealed within the architecture, these systems provide high performance while supporting the clean, modern aesthetic. TRINITY worked closely with engineers and subcontractors to preserve design integrity while meeting all technical and code requirements. Despite an aggressive construction timeline, TRINITY navigated the complexities of the project through meticulous phasing, transparent stakeholder communication, and agile field coordination. From initial demolition to completion, the team consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to precision, craftsmanship, and collaboration, delivering a sophisticated, high-performance headquarters that not only reflects Peterson Companies vision but also supports their long-term growth and operational excellence.
