The Parabilis project presented a variety of challenges and unique features that required innovative problem-solving, precise coordination, and a high degree of technical expertise to ensure successful completion. Parabilis includes extensive electrical work, with a dedicated budget of approximately $500,000 for electrical systems alone. A significant component of this electrical work is the installation of 11 different types of light fixtures, a three-phase Variable Air Volume (VAV) system with units exceeding 5kW, which requires advanced technical coordination and careful integration into the overall HVAC system. The VAV units are an essential part of the building’s environmental control system, and we’ve ensured they meet both performance and energy efficiency standards. In terms of flooring, the project specifies four different carpet styles, along with both Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) and resilient flooring materials, selected for their durability, aesthetic appeal, and suitability for the space. Each of these flooring options required specific installation techniques to ensure both the functional integrity and high-quality finishes expected of this premium project. The varied nature of the flooring materials demanded a keen eye for detail and excellent craftsmanship from our installation teams. The casework at Parabilis also features a variety of high-end finishes, including four distinct types of plastic laminate. These laminate finishes were carefully chosen to complement the overall design aesthetic of the space and offer long-lasting durability. One of the more complex challenges encountered during the project involved core-drilling in one of the conference rooms. This task required extensive coordination with the tenant below the space. The drilling had to be carefully timed and executed to avoid disrupting the operations of the tenant’s business. Additionally, the core-drilling process necessitated the removal of specialty ceiling tiles, the drilling itself, and the subsequent reinstatement of the ceiling. This sequence of activities demanded expert management and communication between all parties involved to minimize downtime and prevent damage to both the ceiling and the existing infrastructure. Another unique feature of the Parabilis space was the installation of privacy screens for the dHive glass panels. This required a high level of coordination between the dHive installer, the electrical contractor, and the privacy screen installer. The installation was complex, as it involved ensuring that the privacy screen was seamlessly integrated with the glass panels without compromising the aesthetic quality or function of the dHive glass. The project team worked closely to address potential concerns, ensuring that all materials were compatible, and the installation was completed within the scheduled timeline. Throughout the project, DFS maintained a strong focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery. Despite the challenges and the need for detailed coordination, DFS consistently met milestones and ensured that every aspect of the project adhered to the highest standards of craftsmanship. The collaborative efforts of the project team, the flexibility to address unforeseen challenges, and the dedication to maintaining a high level of service and workmanship were key to the successful progression of Parabilis.
