Interior/Exterior Restoration
Washington, DC
Memorial Continental Hall, the original building of the National DAR, constructed 1904-1910, was restored by WEI in 2024 and 2025. The exterior marble and stucco was cleaned, repaired, and repointed. Bird netting was installed on all portico ceilings to deter nesting and soiling. The public interior halls and meeting rooms received plaster repairs and were completely repainted according to a paint analysis that determined the original colors of the spaces. Various details were highlighted with gold leaf, according to the analysis.
