Temple Sinai Addition

Addition/Renovation

Washington, DC

Story

Scott-Long was awarded the contract to construct an addition of 8,570 square feet structure adjacent to an existing building, the Temple Sinai. The scope of work also involved renovations within the existing building. The two structures will be continuously separated by a two hour rated “Fire Wall” on an independent foundation, effectively creating two separate buildings. The new building will include a new entrance/egress point from the parking lot, and Meeting and Assembly spaces distributed over two levels, all of which will be accessible via fire-rated openings shared with the existing building. A new stair and elevator will facilitate circulation through the adjoining buildings. Playground, landscape and hardscape improvements, along with accessory storage, circulation, and support spaces inside round out the package.
