The Aledade project transformed one full-floor office into a vibrant workspace designed to bring a remote-first workforce together. This 15,388 square-foot tenant build-out serves more than 2,000 employees nationwide, as a hub for collaboration and connection. At the core of this build is the Divisible Conference Center, a dynamic event space with four automated glass operable partitions and two fabric operable partitions in the center. These partitions allow for seamless transitions, enabling the space to function as smaller meeting rooms or a single, expansive venue for larger gatherings. However, the integration of these partitions came with unique challenges. With a low deck height of just 115 inches slab-to-slab, the team faced the complex task of coordinating trades—including steel, drywall, audiovisual, electrical, and mechanical subcontractors—to fit the required systems into the limited ceiling space. Meticulous planning ensured that all elements were aligned while maintaining the elegant, modern design of the conference center. The project also encountered logistical hurdles before work commenced. Delayed by a four-week permit approval process, the team faced additional restrictions due to Montgomery County’s stringent preconstruction inspection requirements. Work couldn’t begin and materials couldn’t be mobilized onsite until the preconstruction inspection had passed. Once the permit was received, the team pivoted swiftly, deploying strategies to recover time without sacrificing quality or the project timeline. The office’s standout features extend beyond the conference center. The reception area, framed with polished concrete flooring, welcomes visitors with a custom, curved stone desk. Vibrant acoustical finishes, including felt walls and Soundscape panels, balance the energetic design with effective sound control. A roll-up door at the IT Work Counter adds dynamic usability, while a spacious catering pantry serves both intimate and large-scale events. Collaboration with stakeholders was a defining element of this project’s success. Overcoming delays and navigating design constraints required teamwork, creativity, and execution from concept through construction and completion. The integration of design elements and technical complexity showcases the team’s expertise and ability to turn challenges into opportunities for innovation. The team delivered a space that surpassed client expectations. Every detail of the build-out was carefully tailored to Aledade’s vision of a dynamic workplace where employees can connect and celebrate together. The final product provides a practical environment for collaboration and respects the company’s culture and commitment to fostering creativity and connection.
