The Cassidy Levy Kent interior fit-out project is an example of the power of strategic planning and execution to deliver a distinguished workspace tailored to a law firm’s needs. Located on the third floor, the project balances high-end design elements with a strict budget and timeline. The scope included a comprehensive renovation with key additions, such as a reception area, cafe lounge, conference rooms, and private offices. Thoughtfully selected materials and design, such as Zintra acoustic ceiling panels, dHive partitions for flexible office configurations, and custom millwork, shape a workspace that blends both form and function. The Vibia pendant lights, installed in the large open areas and suspended through drywall ceilings beneath the acoustical Zintra panels, is a defining feature of the new space. This project presented significant technical challenges requiring innovative problem-solving between HITT and the designer. The intricate mounting of the Vibia lights, which relied on thread-mounted suspension points, necessitated extensive planning and on-site adjustments to center each fixture aesthetically while maintaining functionality. This required consistent collaboration among subcontractors, vendors, as well as detailed mock-ups to perfect the installation approach. The integration of the ceiling systems, light fixtures, and mechanical elements demanded another layer of precision craftsmanship. Synchronizing the project’s intended design across trades required high-end elements, like the Zintra panels and Vibia lights, to align seamlessly with underlying mechanical and structural systems. Despite these complexities, the team advanced methodically, anticipating potential issues and resolving them without compromising the quality of the final product. Supply chain delays added to the degree of difficulty for this project. With key materials and fixtures sourced from international vendors, communication across time zones and careful planning became essential. Through virtual collaboration tools with overseas suppliers, the team navigated the procurement processes efficiently, avoiding material delays that could have derailed the project timeline. Despite these challenges, the project was completed on schedule and within budget, achieving an exceptional level of quality. The final space reflects the client’s vision for a law firm environment equipped for the future, including a cafe lounge with banquette seating designed to enhance employee interaction, private offices providing an ideal mix of acoustics and comfort, and a polished reception area. This project highlights the expertise and coordination required to successfully deliver a high-end law firm space. The project was led by a nearly all-woman team—including the construction manager, senior project manager, assistant project manager, project manager, and architect. The client team expressed their satisfaction with the project’s outcome, recognizing the space as well-designed, highly functional, and exceeding their expectations of quality.
