The Home Depot Government Relations project was a 5,000 SF expansion of its existing office space, which includes a convertible large conference room/event space, a catering pantry, and a recording studio, while also incorporating a Home Depot Design Center (HDDC) break area, built exclusively with HDDC materials in order to showcase their products. Existing polished concrete was protected and matched for the expansion space, which blends in seamlessly into the expanded half. The existing recording studio was turned into a video/podcast studio with high STC walls and doors. Starting at the renovated reception area, a new 9Wood baffle ceiling with incorporated linear lighting opening up the reception area that previously had a drywall ceiling. An existing steel tool rack art installation was relocated and modified to create a visual screen from the improved reception area, toward the expansion. Upon entering the new portion, you walk past brand-new offices, doubling the previous number of offices, into the HDDC break area, and look toward the new large conference room with two adjacent operable Muraflex partitions that allow a complete opening up of the space for events. The new catering pantry was fully outfitted to easily accommodate catered events. A custom signage wall was also added to enhance the space and be used as an event photo opportunity. The wall consists of a faux green wall with a neon Home Depot logo sign. Throughout the space, changes in ceiling types, floor and wall finishes, and lighting help to promote the Home Depot brand while creating a desirable work environment with much improved technology and resources for employees.
