The construction of a 22,000 square foot hangar located off the entrance of Gerald R. Ford International Airport. A portion of the building will be used by the Michigan Military Preservation Society as a restoration hangar for the Michigan Military Air Land and Sea Museum. Construction of a second building is anticipated for the future to serve as the main museum where planes restored in this facility can be showcased for the public. The remaining 12,000 square feet is utilized by Kent Intermediate School District for its Aviation Technology program. This steadily growing program teaches students airplane maintenance and prepares them for certification in flight-related careers.
