This remodel and expansion of the Dutton Fire station upgraded their existing facility to accommodate full-time firefighters. The 12,000 square foot project included new offices, living space, a training room, and equipment storage space. The addition was necessary to give more space for preparation and training for efficient and safe responses to all emergencies. The construction of a new hose tower will provide space for supplementary training. The new facility includes a high-ceiling apparatus bay to accommodate larger fire trucks and equipment. The building is also designed to be an emergency operating center and community storm center.
The Dutton Fire Station remained open and operational during the construction process.
