The addition and renovation at Northview High Schoolspanned over 2 years and 7 different constructionphases.  The front of the existingbuilding was completely reconstructed. A serpentine design incorporating aluminum and glass curtainwall withvarying heights and a sloped top replaced much of the older brick façade.  A clear anodized Class 1 finish was suppliedfor the aluminum Curtainwall / Storefront systems. Over 1000 units of ‘CrystalGray’ glass Guardian Low-E SN54 with a high performance ‘Techno Spacer’ and‘Argon’ gas filled units totaling 40,000 SF were installed.Staggered horizontal mullions added to the complexity of the fabricationof the curtainwall in addition to multiple different sizes of glass.  Over fifty new aluminum doors with custom hardwarewere also supplied and installed by Vos Glass. The aluminum doors included ‘flush’ as well as ‘stile rail’ type.  Other glazing included interior door lites, firerated glazing and borrowed lite installation.  A cable-supported glass shelving system isfeatured in the Art room.  Heavy glass centerpivoting swing doors were installed at trophy display cases.  This new design features all of the glazingcraftsmanship and presents a progressive open airy educational environment.
