Montague Fire Station

Project-Management

Story

The Montague Fire Station, located at the corner of Wilcox St. and Cook St., features ten bay doors to allow vehicles to quickly respond to an emergency. In addition to an enlarged bay area, the new building features a larger office area than the previous firehouse, with seven individual offices, a conference room and a kitchen area for on-call volunteers.

The architect for the project proposed positioning the masonry building so that expansion is possible on both ends, should the department ever need it.

In addition to its increased size, the new building aims to increase its energy efficiency. Triangle worked with the Montague Fire Department to incorporate as many sustainable features as possible.
