This project began with the demolition of the existing Madison Middle School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The new Gerald R. Ford Middle School features 24 class rooms, a cafeteria, gymnasium, library and media center. The surrounding school grounds offer a soccer field, softball field, an outdoor pavilion, tennis courts, a basketball court and a water play park. The new three story academic building is a high-performance middle school and has received LEED Certification. It also received the 2007 People's Choice Award from the Neighborhood Business Alliance (NBA) and Neighborhood Ventures.
