Story

Located just off the shore of Lake Michigan, the new High School Athletic Complex, Gene Rothi Memorial Stadium and Home of the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Buccaneers, is impressive.  The dual home stadium bleacher system serving both football and lacrosse/soccer offers seating for up to 6,000 spectators.  The side by side fields are comprised of synthetic turf and include an eight lane running track around the football field.  The stadium includes a Field events area for long jump, pole vault, discus and shot put. Stadium facilities include a 3,000 square foot Home and Visitor concession/restroom building with additional band and storage rooms.   There is a Team building for the home and visiting teams including training rooms and an official's room.  A 52,000 square foot concrete plaza connects the stadium entrance, concession/restrooms, team rooms and bleacher seating.  A circular engraved paver entrance around the main flagpole pays tribute to Mr. Rothi, Grand Haven students and athletes.  The new scoreboard, lighting and sound systems add the finishing touch for both fields.  Soils & Structures provided Construction Material Testing and Geotechnical Engineering for this project.
