The renovation of the former Old Kent-5/3 Bank Building to accommodate a Biggby Coffee Shop and a Subway Restaurant was very interesting. It was sort of like fitting a square peg in a round hole. The circular building was almost completely gutted and rebuilt. The two restaurants share a common lobby, dining area, and toilets, while maintaining separate food prep, food storage, and service lines. Omega Architects worked very closely with both companies, as well as the franchisee, to coordinate materials, color schemes, and layouts to meet everyone's needs. The existing bank drive-thru was converted to Biggby's drive-thru. The work on the exterior of the building included cleaning of the brick, painting, and minor renovations of the storefront.
