Ironwood, Michigan
General-Contractor
As part of a bond issue approved by the community in 2009, the Ironwood School District sought bids for a new addition and renovations to the existing building. Moyle Construction was selected as the General Contractor for the project. The addition consists of a new gymnasium, band room, and wood shop. The new space is constructed of masonry block with a brick veneer and a combination of bar joist and pre-cast concrete planks for the 2nd floors and roof structure. Classrooms on the first floor of the existing school were renovated to provide new space for classes from grades 3 through 5 which were moved from other buildings. As part of the renovations to the exterior of the existing building, Moyle Construction replaced the stone accent bands and sills with new, pre-cast concrete products.
