Molin Concrete is currently installing product on the IRET Offices and Apartments in Minot, ND. The mixed use facility offers tenants street level retail while providing apartments above. Precast Hollow Core slabs, solid precast structural walls, and beams & columns came together to add value to the project in many ways. Molin provided structural wall panels to aid in the quick start date scheduled. Molin’s field crews were able to benefit from this greatly by being able to set the hollow core plank, beams, columns, and wall panels concurrently without leaving the site. In addition to the benefits of cost and time saved for the owner, precast also offers many benefits for the tenants: fire separation, indoor parking, low maintenance, and sound insulation. Precast concrete provided a fire-rated barrier between the underground parking and retail, and also between the retail and the above apartments. It greatly adds to the overall comfort and well-being of the tenants when safety and noise levels are considered.
