Mekus Tanager was part of a team that created a master plan for the 22 acre expansion for this national cemetery. The plan included full casket gravesites in pre-placed crypts, columbaria niches, roads and utilities sufficient to support a ten-year projection of burial needs. Additionally, the plan called for the renovation of the administration and public information building, a new public information/restroom building and a new commital shelter.
We then proceded to implement the build-out of Phase I. We renovated the administration building and built an addition to house the maintenance offices, locker rooms, employee lounge and a new main conference room. We designed an addition for the the maintenance building as well, providing additional vehicle storage and materials bays. We also designed the new committal shelter and a new public information/restroom building.
The scope of services included completion of a Master Plan to a schematic design level for the expansion area of the cemetery and design development design, construction documents and construction administration for the Phase I development area.
