Architectural
Mekus Tanager was hired by the Diocese of Orange, after a design-competition, because their designs best reflected the overall vision of Catholic Cemeteries for Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California. The final master plan provided for four key areas of development, including:
- A 5200 crypt chapel and mausoleum complex
- A wall and lawn crypt garden incorporating 2,300 wall crypts, 1600 niches, 1600 lawn crypts
- A new administration building
-A new field operations center
The design is based on a Mediterranean-California style to complement the surrounding community. The site is a long, narrow, hilly location over-looking the valley and the mountains beyond.
