Story

This was the first time Horizontal Directional Drilling was used to drill from outside a hotel into a restaurant in the interior of the hotel.  International Consolidated Contracting, owner of the only horizonal directional drills on Guam,  was commissioned to do the drilling. The objective was to create a hole under the hotel so as to install plumbing for a renovated Tony Roma's Restaurant.  By drilling under the hotel foundation and angling up into the interior, this prevented the contractor from having to jackhammer the foundation to create access.

The drill had to thread carefully between existing pipes and had to angle upwards quickly enough to stay within the restaurant floor area.  Everything went perfect and it was a very successful project.
