We frequently find a point in the Engelsma design process where one detail changes everything. At 2900 Terra Nova, it was this one: we want to watch the sunset from as many places inside the home as possible.

That request is now a part of the house. The arched front door, the grand foyer, the dining room windows, they’re all oriented west, deliberately. The great room and kitchen face the backyard. The light this home gathers at the end of the day isn’t an accident. It was a decision made early and protected through every revision.

The kitchen anchors the main floor the way this family wanted it to: a curved reeded island in Engelsma’s own cabinetry, full-height slab backsplash, and enough room to make the kitchen the center of the house without it feeling like one. Custom cabinetry runs throughout, including dog gates built into the hall and laundry room.

A covered porch with motorized screens means the question of ‘inside or outside’ stays open well into the evening. Off the garage, a glass garage door and large sliders connect to the backyard and golf deck, making it easy to move everywhere.

The primary bath carries the same precision: marble shower bench and niche, and a marble mitered vanity in the powder bath that rewards anyone who notices it.

Before you leave, find the concealed workstation tucked off the back entrance to the covered porch. It’s easy to miss, and that’s the point.
