Canner Ve, Finish Carpenter Apprentice for Bruce Heys Builders (BHB), was born and raised in Burma and came to work at BHB two years ago in 2018. In August 2010, he moved from Burma with his parents as a refugee when an opportunity presented itself. Upon arriving to the States, he attended high school at East Kentwood, and finished his schooling with home building classes at Grand Rapids Community College. This was where he realized his dream to become a Finish Carpenter.

Although extremely humble when asking of his biggest accomplishments, he does say he is proud of all that he has been able to accomplish over the past 10 years. Leaving another country, learning a new language and an entirely new skillset has not been easy, but Canner has done it and has done it well.

BHB specializes in high-end custom home building and renovations where perfection is a standard. Thankfully, Canner’s talents fit well as he specializes in precision, attention to detail, professionalism, ability to read intricate blueprints well, excellent knowledge of how to use tools (both power and hand) and a natural ability to troubleshoot, as necessary. We are proud of the excellent work he does and are honored to nominate him for the Rookie of the Year 2021.
