Sunset Bluff Remodel

Story

Situated on Lake Michigan, this main level layout was notjust dated but also very constricted and lacked any flow. The design goal wasto start from scratch and deliver an open layout conducive to entertaining, weekend visitors, and the client’s many grandkids.

Among many challenges, the most prominent was to maintain thecurrent square footage and exterior details such as window placements and doorentries.

The solution required a free-flowing design that would haveminimal traffic restrictions. This involved removing the dining room wall and openingthe entire main-level up to the massive kitchen. The result of these fewchanges has since created better movement and kept the area from being toocongested.

A light and airy design theme has converted this once stuffyand dated kitchen. Sparkling amongst clean lines and warm hues, crisp whitecabinetry and a massive accenting island that now anchor the kitchen. Beyondthe island, a formal dining table adds additional seating as well asunobstructed Lake Michigan views.
