After 20 years, this family needed a fresh setting. The journey started with needing more space for the ever-growing family; so we expanded their breakfast nook and crafted a custom table. The effect turned into replacing the entire floor in the process. With the living room already empty, we removed the dated fireplace and replaced it with a contemporary wooden piece. We hid the TV in the wall behind a custom mirror and continued to trail the contemporary style up to the X-coffered ceiling, centered with a funky monkey chandelier. This style flows into the beautiful kitchen remodel. In need of a bit more storage, we gave them a larger island, adding 3 extra cabinets with built-in recycle bins and a custom Peruvian walnut island top. In the midst of the project, the homeowners decided to paint the kitchen cabinets the same color as the walls. This brightened the space and opened up the 1st floor as a whole. Some added necessities were the butler's pantry with a much-desired wine cooler and adding custom cubbies and bench in the mudroom. Lastly, we upgraded their home office with custom filing cabinets and a french concrete desk top. We were able to marry the couple's tastes while giving them a UR-nique design for the family's relaxation, restoration, and rejuvenation.
