“Open up with more light!” were the homeowners’ requirements for this North Ridge kitchen renovation. Wood Wise updated this traditional four-over-four home by removing several walls to connect the kitchen, dining room, foyer, and living areas. The space now features an extra-long 14’ island with a gas cooktop and seating for 5. Light has been dramatically increased with the triple Pella double-hung windows over the sink, well-spaced recessed lighting, and under cabinet lights. Countertops are Silestone quartz in “Lagoon” with a marble backsplash that extends to the ceiling behind the sink. The perimeter cabinets are KraftMaid "Renway” in Dove White with the contrasting island in “Midnight.” The former laundry room area is now a floor-to-ceiling pantry of KraftMaid cabinets with plenty of convenient storage. A 7’ x 17’ addition was added at the side of the house for the new laundry room and mudroom with cubbies that provide the perfect drop zone for backpacks, shoes, and athletic equipment.
