Story

This client had waited a long time for her 'dream kitchen'. She had maximized the use of the space she had, but it was now time to 'spread her wings' and get what she wanted! With her desire and long-time history of entertaining and cooking, we began re-designing the existing 40 year old space; incorporating some rustic elements with the addition of twin walnut barn doors and stained beaded ceiling, increasing the openness and sight lines with wall removal and adding a transom window and another skylight for more natural light. The use of segment arches at the entries to the space and one arch spanning almost 10' in the wine area, softened the many harder lines of this established Cary residence. The light, pickled, rustic oak flooring (new throughout the first floor) complimented the light quartz counters, dark walnut top and shelving. She now has the kitchen she dreamed of and is already planning to share a night of cooking and wine with her many friends!!
