Spectrum Health - Butterworth Campus

Grand Rapids, Michigan

Electrical-Contractor

Story

Winner of the 2000 ABC Award of Excellence in Low Voltage Category
Feyen Zylstra’s Communications group removed existing shielded cable at Spectrum Health’s Butterworth Campus, and installed 289 miles of new Category 5 cable. The cable ran to over 7,000 locations with associated conduit pathways and extensive fire stopping. Work was done on all shifts to prevent service interruption of critical areas such as the emergency room, surgery area, and medical records room. The project team also replaced all of the fiber optic backbone and inter-building connections. Using Aperture Facility Management software, the project was documented for pre-planning and as-built purposes.
