Harrisville, Indiana
Material-Testing
The Driesenga Team provided construction materials testing and inspection for multiple contractors on the ethanol plant project. D&A performed building foundation, subgrade, parking lot and utility trench compaction tests, concrete compressive strength for building materials and tank rings, masonry & grout testing, and auger cast pile testing and inspection in accordance with 2003 Indiana Building Code requirements. Cardinal Ethanol is in the process of building an ethanol plant in East Central Indiana, near Harrisville. The site is at the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 32 and 600 E, adjacent and parallel to a CSX railroad mainline. The plant will be natural gas fired and is expected to use 36 million bushels of corn and produce 100 million gallons of ethanol, along with 320,000 tons of dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) per year. The ethanol will be marketed across the U.S. as a clean-burning, high-octane transportation fuel additive
