Heartwood Lodge offers a full continuum of care including short-term and long-term care, as well as respite and rehabilitation services, with the desire to create a residential, home-like atmosphere for their residents. Their new facility is designed with resident rooms arranged in neighborhoods with complete support including living room, dining room, serving kitchen, and decentralized nurse’s stations. The new facility will also include physical therapy rooms, beauty salon, gift shop, spa treatment rooms, dining area, full service kitchen, laundry facilities, linen storage, activity room, chapel, reception area, administrative offices for both care center and hospice staff, and restrooms. On campus will be an 8-bed Hospice Unit including family gathering areas and a community dining area where all residents can gather for meals. The site offers outdoor courtyard areas for residents to relax and visit with family or friends. Design Plus provided full services for the facility including architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, interior design and finish selection, custom millwork design, lighting selection and specification, and site/landscape design. Construction is underway for this 92-bed, 60,000 SF healthcare center with completion scheduled November 2007. Total construction cost is estimated at approximately $6,000,000.
