Design Plus provided site planning, programming, design and documentation, and construction observation for this 7,500 SF bed and breakfast inn located within easy walking distance of shopping, marinas, parks, beaches, with a view of the harbor area in downtown Grand Haven. Though the project is entirely new construction, the design effect is a restored historic home. A high-end luxury hotel, the facility includes 15 sleeping rooms, an entry foyer, living room, library, prep kitchen, and an innkeeper apartment. The guest rooms are large with sitting areas, fireplaces, and whirlpool tubs. The living/dining room layout offers opportunities for conferences, business retreats, or presentations. The project was completed in the spring of 1987 with a total construction cost of $750,000, and won the AIA Distinguished Building Award in 1991.
