CSM managed five separate building projects: construction of a New Walters Elementary, renovations and additions to Gordon Elementary, Hughes Elementary, the Middle School and renovations to Sherman School. The New Walters Elementary is a 65,000 sf state-of-the-art facility located on 10 acres adjacent to the current High School. The building contains all the elements of a new elementary along with a full size competition gymnasium. Hughes Elementary and Gordon Elementary projects consisted of 8,000 sf additions to and interior renovation of existing facilities. Complete exterior window replacement was planned. A major facet included during planning for these facilities is technology upgrades to maintain consistency with the New Elementary. The Middle School project consisted of a new 35,000 sf, three-story historical addition connecting three existing buildings. Further, renovations took place in two of the three existing buildings. Once the additions and renovations were completed an existing three-story building was demolished and site improvements were completed. Sherman School consists of minor renovations to an existing building that will no longer be used as an elementary once the New Elementary is completed.
