A state of the art fitness facility that combines the amenities of a private health club with upscale therapy services. The structure integrates glass curtain wall systems with brick and limestone. Its park like setting is unmatched within an existing development park. The 90,000 square foot structure houses a swimming pool, therapy pools, sauna, aerobic studio, racket sports, gymnasium, classrooms, locker rooms, demonstration kitchen, physicians offices, snack bar and gift shop along with space devoted to complimentary health care services. Opened in October of 2001, research at the center focuses on health, wellness and fitness, including evaluation of lifestyle modification and its impact on health and aging. Other studies are being devoted to the effect of ergonomics and work related health issues to assess cost implications for employees and insurers.
