East Grand Rapids, Michigan
Architectural
The East Grand Rapids Community Center is located on scenic Reeds Lake. This project involved almost a complete reconstruction of the existing city hall and library facilities. Two existing buildings and an old water reservoir have been combined into one large, picturesque facility.
The facility has received LEED Certification from the United States Green Building Council. In order to qualify, construction waste was recycled and FSC Certified wood components, low VOC paints, cork floors and sun shades were installed.
The facility received the 2007 award for Outstanding Facility Design from the Michigan Recreation & Park Association; and also an Award of Excellence from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Michigan.
