Design Program:   Getting its start as a family owned business in 1869, Welch's continues their  commitment to the highest quality of Concord and Niagara grape products throughout the United States and 35 countries around the world.  One of Welch's plants operates in Lawton, Michigan where Byce & Associates has had the opportunity to provide architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical services on previous design projects for the company. This project involved the design of eight 700,000 gallon refrigerated tank foundations along with the interconnecting of the utility service for storage of Welch's grape juice products.

Design Challenges:  When Welch's developed the idea of a Tank Farm which would involve the  addition of eight refrigerated grape juice tanks, it became an issue with the City of Lawton and their existing zoning ordinance.
