CSM Group recently constructed a 30,000 sf production brewing facility for Kalamazoo Brewing Co. The brewer produces Bell’s brand beer distributed throughout the Midwest. The facility includes brewing, fermentation, bottling, administration and distribution. The building structure is conventional structural steel with precast concrete wall panels. Skylights and windows allow natural light into all production areas. The production areas are large open rooms with commercial food grade quarry tile. The quarry tile is set in a Furnane mortar bed with Furnane grout. This method of adhering and grouting is a commercial food application that is similar to a food processing plant and cereal production facilities. The office and mechanical rooms are masonry and metal stud framed partitions. The mezzanine above the offices and mechanical room includes storage areas constructed of masonry supported precast plank. The office areas include sales offices, sales training facilities, a laboratory, employee locker rooms and kitchen.
